About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern at Nucor Steel Brandenburg, you will work directly with maintenance and production teams in the field. This role focuses on the fundamentals of steel making, including power distribution and process control. You will engage in hands-on work to improve safety, cost, and reliability across our mill operations.
What you'll do#
- Manage maintenance and engineering projects that prioritize safety and equipment reliability.
- Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance routines.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues as they arise.
- Apply your knowledge of power quality, power transmission, and system troubleshooting to daily operations.
- Learn the core power distribution and process control systems used in steel production.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Fundamental knowledge of protection and control schemes.
- Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
- Willingness to work both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
