About the role#
As an intern on our Substation and Power Generation team, you will gain hands-on experience in power delivery engineering. You will work on real projects that bridge the gap between your classroom studies and professional practice. This is a full-time, paid summer 2027 internship based in Joplin, Missouri.
What you'll do#
- Perform CAD design tasks while following established standards.
- Assist with the development of protection schemes and control wiring.
- Analyze the physical arrangement and protection of power systems.
- Conduct fault identification and isolation tasks.
- Support the design of substation structures and foundations.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- You have a working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- You possess strong math and problem-solving skills.
- You demonstrate high attention to detail in your work.
