About the role#
This is a rolling internship opportunity based in Clearwater, Florida. You will work with the engineering team at Frontline Communications to assist with systems engineering functions. This role is full-time and on-site.
What you'll do#
- Prepare vehicle component layouts using CAD software.
- Select parts and components based on weight, cost, reliability, and ease of manufacturing.
- Design, model, and test new communication system components for audio, video, network, and radio integration.
- Set up and configure IP addresses and serial communication for mobile command centers.
- Provide technical assistance on the assembly floor during prototype, pilot, and production builds.
- Consult with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical issues.
- Update bills of materials to reflect product changes and assist with vehicle testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Fundamental knowledge of networking and subnetting.
- Interest or previous experience in communications systems design.
- Experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight is a plus.
