About the role#
The Gosin Center for Equity and Inclusion is looking for a Communications & Engagement Student Assistant to support marketing, storytelling, and event efforts. This role helps amplify programs like the Gosin Network Scholars Program and the Fireside Chat Series. It is a pre-professional opportunity for students interested in marketing, communications, leadership, and higher education.
What you'll do#
- Manage and curate content for social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar with Gosin leadership.
- Design digital flyers, graphics, and promotional materials using Canva.
- Capture photos and short-form video content at events.
- Track engagement metrics and provide brief monthly analytics summaries.
- Assist with event set-up, breakdown, and on-site logistics.
- Represent the Gosin Center at campus events and contribute ideas to increase student participation.
What you'll need#
- Current work-study eligibility.
- Proficiency in Instagram, TikTok, and Canva.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Comfort creating short-form video content.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Reliability and strong organizational skills.
- Interest in marketing, communications, or student leadership.
- Experience with photography, video editing, or managing social media accounts is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: To be determined with your supervisor. You may work up to 20 hours per week while school is in session and up to 35 hours per week during breaks.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
