About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Honolulu, Hawaii. The position runs for three to four months during the summer of 2027. You will work on-site at a construction project, gaining hands-on experience in health, safety, and environmental practices.
What you'll do#
- Gather, review, and distribute safety-related statistical information.
- Monitor site-specific safety programs and ensure compliance with requirements.
- Follow PCL and local legislative safety requirements.
- Apply basic knowledge of behavioral concepts to the job site.
- Interpret, communicate, and reinforce project safety standards to the workforce.
What you'll need#
- You are working toward a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Health Administration, Civil Engineering, or Business Administration.
- You have a clear desire to pursue a career as an HSE professional.
- You are 18 years of age or older and hold a valid Driver's License.
- You possess effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- You have the ability to learn construction processes and terminology.
- You must be able to navigate a construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, and working near heavy equipment.

- Location: Honolulu, Hawaii.

- Compensation: $28 to $33 per hour, depending on experience.
