About the role#
This summer internship prepares students for a career in the heavy civil construction industry. You will work alongside Civil, Mechanical, and Environmental Engineers to gain experience in both the field and the office. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily quantity reviews with the Superintendent and Job Foreman.
- Maintain project logs, general correspondence files, and shop drawing records.
- Assist with the purchase of job materials and verify that proper quantities are delivered.
- Help develop project look-ahead schedules.
- Conduct jobsite safety inspections and maintain safety documentation.
- Assist with payroll tracking, subcontractor logs, and project plan updates.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management program.
- An interest in heavy construction, such as site-work, roads, or environmental projects.
- The ability to work in a hands-on, field-based environment.
