About the role#
The Qnity Operator Internship Program provides hands-on experience for students currently enrolled in technical associate or chemical operator certificate programs. This paid internship is designed for students to gain industry exposure while completing their coursework. Interns work between 128 and 200 hours over a 10-week period. Schedules are flexible to accommodate class requirements, with weekends and holidays off.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and operate complex equipment, processes, and facilities.
- Collect and analyze samples to ensure products meet quality requirements.
- Safely manufacture and troubleshoot products following established procedures.
- Operate manufacturing machinery, including nips, rollers, and lathes.
- Perform quality inspections using testing equipment and escalate any abnormalities.
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems and improve production processes.
- Participate in shift meetings, turnover discussions, and training events.
- Maintain accurate documentation and perform data entry into various systems.
- Follow safety protocols, including the use of required personal protective equipment and handling chemicals safely.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a technical associate or chemical operator certificate program.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior work experience in an industrial environment, such as manufacturing or warehousing, is preferred.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Ability to communicate effectively in professional language.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools and accurate data entry skills.
- Physical ability to climb stairs, bend, squat, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures and humidity.
