About the role#
As a Vehicle Fluids Engineer Intern, you will join the Stage Fluids team to support the mechanical and systems-level design of fluid systems for the Terran R launch vehicle. You will work on-site at the factory, allowing for direct interaction with hardware and rapid iteration cycles. You will contribute to the design, production, and testing of propellant, pressurant, and pneumatic systems.
What you'll do#
- Perform structural design of secondary structures that support fluids hardware.
- Validate mechanical designs using hand calculations or FEA.
- Conduct tube routing design and analysis.
- Analyze fluid systems using 1D flow solvers and hand calculations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- Practical experience with a commercial CAD package from projects or industry work.
- Experience with the design or operation of fluid systems and components.
- Strong grasp of thermal analysis, fluid mechanics, and fluid dynamics.
- Ability to work effectively with changing requirements.
