About the role#
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. You will work on projects that directly impact how we build and deliver our autonomous service vessels. This is a hands-on role where you will tackle real-world manufacturing challenges in the defense and robotics space.
What you'll do#
- Improve manufacturing efficiency through hands-on projects.
- Conduct time studies and analyze production workflows.
- Support floor organization and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Design and implement light tooling or fixtures for assembly and fabrication.
- Analyze and improve our manufacturing data and documentation systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and fabrication teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- A strong interest in hands-on manufacturing and process improvement.
- Analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to learn and take initiative.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. law to access export-controlled information.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Austin, Texas.
- The term runs from May through August 2027.
- This position is paid.
- The role involves occasional physical tasks such as lifting up to 20 pounds, standing, and walking.
