About the role#
The Management & Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12 week summer program. It provides hands-on experience in retail store operations, sales, and management. You will gain practical business-to-business experience while working in a paint store environment. Interns complete a team-based project that addresses a real business challenge with support from leadership. You will also spend time with a Sales Representative to gain insight into a career in outside sales.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly, professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain displays and offer product recommendations.
- Answer questions about merchandise and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves and support visual merchandising.
- Assist with transactions, product preparation, color mixing, and general store upkeep.
- Help unload deliveries and organize stockrooms.
- Attend training sessions and follow store policies.
- Support teammates and resolve basic customer concerns.
- Work on a team-based project addressing a real business challenge.
- Travel with a Sales Representative to learn about outside sales.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university, specifically a rising or current Junior or Senior at the start of the program.
- Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs on occasion.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
- If currently employed at Sherwin-Williams, you must have a meets expectations rating on your most recent performance appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
