About the role#
This internship offers a look into the daily operations of a professional newsroom. You will contribute to the storytelling process for broadcast and digital platforms while gaining experience in modern journalism.
What you'll do#
- Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories.
- Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers in the newsroom and in the field.
- Bring fresh story ideas to the table to help shape coverage.
- Learn to shoot video and frame visuals.
- Gain exposure to control room operations and live broadcast production.
What you'll need#
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be a sophomore or higher at an accredited college or university.
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or be a recent graduate.
- Pursue a degree in Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- Location: Nashville, Tennessee.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site at WZTV.
- Schedule: Approximately 15 hours per week for 10 weeks.
- Start Date: Between August 24th and September 14th.
- Status: This is a paid internship.
