About the role#
We are looking for a Plumbing Design Intern to join our team in Overland Park. This is a full-time, paid internship that offers experience in plumbing systems design. You will work alongside professionals on projects for healthcare, education, sports, and commercial facilities.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with the design of plumbing systems for various facility types.
- Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and calculations using Revit.
- Participate in design meetings, internal project reviews, and site visits.
- Conduct research to support engineering decisions and ensure code compliance.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and civil teams.
- Gain familiarity with industry standards and codes, such as IPC, UPC, NFPA, and ASPE.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in building systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or other CAD tools.
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work professionally and collaboratively in team settings.
- Solid judgment, decision-making skills, and clear speech clarity.
