About the role#
We are looking for a Plumbing Design Intern to join our team in Austin. This role offers the chance to gain experience in plumbing systems design while working with professionals on projects across healthcare, education, and sports facilities. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with the design of plumbing systems for various facility types.
- Attend site visits, design meetings, and internal project reviews.
- Prepare calculations, diagrams, and technical documentation using Revit.
- Conduct research to support engineering decisions and ensure code compliance.
- Collaborate with other disciplines in a team-focused environment.
- Gain familiarity with industry codes and standards such as IPC, UPC, NFPA, and ASPE.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- An interest in building systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD tools is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to apply theories and methodologies relevant to the discipline.
- Strong judgment, decision-making, and follow-through.
- Professionalism and a positive approach to interpersonal collaboration.
