About the role#
Starr offers a summer internship program for undergraduate and graduate students. You will work within our Property and Casualty insurance operations. This role provides exposure to the corporate environment and offers hands-on training from managers and mentors. You will participate in a 10-week program designed to help you understand different career paths within the company.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to core business functions such as Claims, Underwriting, Audit, IT, Marketing, or HR.
- Support the specific business needs of your assigned department.
- Attend training sessions to learn the nuances of the commercial insurance industry.
- Take part in professional development programming to improve your communication and presentation skills.
- Complete and present a final Capstone project that summarizes your takeaways and skills acquired during the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Ability to work in a professional corporate environment.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Marketing.
- Risk Management or Insurance majors and relevant coursework are preferred but not required.
