About the role#
The Art Gallery at Taft College is hiring a student worker for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms. This is a paid, on-site position. You will serve as the first point of contact for guests and help maintain the gallery space.
What you'll do#
- Greet visitors as they enter the gallery.
- Answer questions about current exhibits, artists, and upcoming programs.
- Monitor the space to prevent unauthorized touching or photography of artwork.
- Enforce gallery policies regarding food, drinks, and photography.
- Assist staff with the installation and deinstallation of art pieces.
- Manage opening and closing procedures, including locking doors and displaying signage.
- Represent the gallery in a professional manner and maintain accurate daily time cards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in at least 6 units at Taft College.
- Maintain enrollment in good status.
- Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when needed.
