About the role#
The Renewables Engineering Intern role provides hands-on experience at an ethanol production facility. You will work with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to apply technical principles to real-world challenges. This position involves both day-to-day operational tasks and larger capital improvement projects. You will take ownership of assigned responsibilities and gain exposure to plant performance initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Support process engineering by troubleshooting operational challenges and researching solutions.
- Analyze data to improve plant performance, safety, reliability, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with production operators and maintenance personnel to identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist with capital projects including planning, data collection, equipment evaluations, and contractor coordination.
- Update process documentation such as P&IDs, standard operating procedures, and engineering records.
- Conduct field observations and evaluate equipment performance.
- Communicate project updates and technical findings to cross-functional teams.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Agriculture Systems, or Process Engineering.
- Junior standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Between 0 and 2 years of relevant experience.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- This is a paid internship.
