About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position provides an inside look at retail operations. You will work closely with store management to learn how the business functions, with a focus on developing your leadership, merchandising, and recruiting skills. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, processing freight, and maintaining store displays.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, and hiring.
- Manage a designated product category by setting sales goals, educating your teammates on the product, and tracking your results.
- Recruit and interview potential teammates using company resources.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Participate in monthly conference calls.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, Operations Management, or a related field.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs in the store and backroom.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
