About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on learning the retail business from the ground up. You will work alongside the Store Manager to understand store operations, management practices, and how to create a positive shopping experience for our guests. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering teammate orientation, leadership, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring.
- Manage a product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking performance results.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance metrics using the Performance Tracker.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, merchandise displays, and facility maintenance.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- No prior retail experience or training is required.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and specific holidays.
