About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern works closely with the Store Manager to learn how the retail business functions and to develop management skills. You will complete sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, and hiring. This role involves managing a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking results. You will provide weekly progress updates to the Area and District Managers.
What you'll do#
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks including cashiering, merchandise displays, and facility cleaning.
- Provide service to guests by answering questions, recommending products, and assisting with fitting rooms.
- Maintain and share knowledge of current sales, promotions, and store policies.
- Handle freight, prepare displays, and complete price markdowns.
- Open and close registers, balance cash drawers, and perform deposits.
- Follow loss prevention guidelines and maintain a clean, organized store environment.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- No prior experience or training is required.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
