About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work directly with the Store Manager to learn the fundamentals of retail operations and leadership. This role focuses on creating a high-quality shopping experience for guests while developing your skills in sales, merchandising, and team management. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail environment, with the goal of understanding what it takes to succeed in management.
What you'll do#
- Complete core sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking your own results.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Handle operational tasks such as opening and closing cash registers, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits.
- Perform merchandising duties, including handling freight, re-merchandising, and preparing displays.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance metrics for your assigned department.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field of study, such as Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- You have the physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- You are interested in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- No prior experience or training is necessary for this position.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
