About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on learning the retail business from the ground up. You will work directly with the Store Manager to understand how the company operates and what is required to excel in a management role. This internship is designed to build your skills in recruiting, merchandising, and leadership through hands-on experience.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, merchandise displays, and facility maintenance.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual, covering Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking your own results.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- You have an interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- You are physically able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- You are able to work a flexible schedule, which includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
