About the role#
This co-op position offers hands-on experience working with a data warehouse during a transition from Snowflake to Databricks. You will work with Power BI and cloud-based reporting infrastructure while gaining exposure to enterprise-scale deployments. This role involves both development tasks and the day-to-day administration of analytics and AI platforms.
What you'll do#
- Determine the best use of DirectQuery or Import mode during table ingestion in Power Query.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to build enterprise reporting.
- Research and test new tools to improve reporting development and validation.
- Document model schemas, API integrations, and AI governance standards.
- Assist in the administration of platforms including Databricks, Snowflake, and Power BI Service.
- Monitor platform health, investigate data refresh issues, and support root-cause analysis.
- Manage user roles, permissions, and access requests.
- Create and maintain support documentation and operational guides.
What you'll need#
- Current graduate student in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Foundational programming skills in writing moderately complex SQL.
- Experience with Power BI, specifically in creating semantic models that reference a data warehouse.
- Familiarity with AI concepts through coursework or personal projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical curiosity.
- Ability to adapt to new tools and learn quickly.
