    About the role#

    The College of Health Care Professions is hiring a Medical Coding & Billing Instructor and Externship Coordinator. This role involves teaching students and managing their externship placements. You will work on-site at the Houston campus. This is a full-time position with a schedule that includes day hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and evening hours from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. No prior teaching experience is required, as training is provided for those moving from the field into education.

    What you'll do#

    • Deliver curriculum content to Medical Coding & Billing students.
    • Mentor students throughout their educational journey.
    • Foster a positive and professional learning environment.
    • Prepare students for success in the healthcare field.
    • Coordinate and support externship opportunities.
    • Collaborate with campus leadership and staff to ensure student success.

    What you'll need#

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Coding and Billing.
    • One of the following certifications: CBCS (Certified Billing and Coding Specialist), CPC (Certified Professional Coder), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist).
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • A professional approach to leadership and education.
