About the role#
The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at The University of New Mexico is hiring a Coordinator of Student and Graduate Services. This role supports a department with over four dozen graduate students and three undergraduate majors. You will work with faculty and students to manage administrative processes and outreach efforts.
What you'll do#
- Manage graduate student contracts to ensure they meet University and union timelines.
- Assist the Graduate Studies Committee with application platforms.
- Generate offer letters for accepted graduate students.
- Develop and run the departmental graduate student orientation.
- Advise students on degree requirements, class registration, PI selection, and general expectations.
- Process departmental awards and scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Collaborate with the Integrated Education and Research Committee to create recruitment plans, materials, and events.
- Develop career services activities for students.
- Provide general administrative support to the department.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- At least 7 years of related experience. You may substitute completed degrees from an accredited institution for experience on a year-for-year basis.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Two years of experience working with UNM systems in an academic setting is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico.
- Work Modality: This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work arrangement after the successful completion of training and based on supervisor discretion and business needs.
- Status: Full-time.
