About the role#
Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is hiring two student research assistants for a project titled The Architecture of Polarization: How Our Buildings and Builders Shape our Politics. This role is led by Dr. Aaron Cayer within the Department of Architecture. It is a paid, part-time position.
What you'll do#
- Work with faculty and software developers to explore, test, and troubleshoot urban simulation platforms.
- Coordinate with other student assistants to meet project goals and grant timelines.
- Create clear reports and visual materials to share research findings.
- Maintain a regular work schedule that may require some evening or weekend hours.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student status in urban and regional planning, GIS, or architecture.
- Proficiency in GIS, the Microsoft Office suite, and the Adobe graphics suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
- Strong research, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once while working both independently and with a team.
- High attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Pomona, California (On-site).
- Pay: $21.00 per hour.
- Schedule: 5 to 10 hours per week.
- Term: Rolling, up to 9 months.
