    About the role#

    The HR Intern supports the Human Resources Department at the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center. This part-time role offers a UNM student practical exposure to HR functions within a nonprofit organization. You will focus on document standardization, records organization, and various administrative projects.

    What you'll do#

    • Update existing job descriptions to match the approved organizational format.
    • Manage a tracker to monitor the status of all job descriptions.
    • Organize finalized job descriptions in the electronic filing system using established naming conventions.
    • Assist the HR Benefits Specialist with the retention of biweekly payroll records.
    • Help with administrative tasks related to recruiting, such as posting announcements, scheduling interviews, and preparing materials.
    • Support new-hire onboarding and orientation activities.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be a currently enrolled UNM student with a Work-Study Award.
    • You must have the ability to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of employee, payroll, and HR records.
    • Pursuing a degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is preferred.

    Location & details#

    • This position is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
    • Work is part-time with flexible hours.
    • The role is primarily on-site, with limited remote work possible based on operational needs.
