About the role#
The Quality Improvement Intern will assist the team at Watts Healthcare Center with administrative and data tasks. You will help organize documents, support projects, and track metrics. This role offers a look at how healthcare organizations monitor performance and improve patient outcomes. You will gain exposure to healthcare administration, compliance, and data management while working alongside experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff with organizing quality improvement materials and project documents.
- Support department initiatives focused on organizational performance.
- Observe quality improvement meetings and project activities.
- Prepare materials for department projects and presentations.
- Perform data entry and record organization tasks.
- Track quality-related information and metrics.
- Organize reports, spreadsheets, and department documentation.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper files through filing, scanning, and copying.
- Learn about healthcare quality standards, performance measures, and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Compton Unified School District.
- Sophomore or Junior standing is preferred.
- Preference for students in a CTE pathway.
- Interest in careers related to healthcare, science, biotechnology, or public health.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and peers.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated responsibility, professionalism, and dependability.
