About the role#
As an intern on the Reliability & Observability Engineering team, you will help monitor our trading platform. Our team manages the pipelines and tools that collect logs, metrics, and traces from thousands of hosts across our global environments. We turn this data into dashboards, alerts, and internal web applications that support staff use to track platform health in real time. You will work with a manager and mentor to complete a scoped project and ship actual changes into our production environments.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain data pipelines that move logs and metrics from production systems into our observability platform.
- Develop internal full-stack monitoring tools using React and TypeScript front ends with Python and Kotlin services.
- Write infrastructure as code with Terraform and deploy to Kubernetes on AWS using GitLab CI and ArgoCD.
- Create and tune dashboards and alerts to help on-call engineers focus on relevant signals.
- Investigate monitoring gaps by identifying hosts, processes, and services to onboard.
- Analyze telemetry data to improve query performance and reduce costs.
- Participate in code reviews, merge requests, and team agile ceremonies.
- Explore how AI and emerging technologies apply to our business operations.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of modern software languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Comfort working in a Linux command-line environment and using Git for version control.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain findings and changes to various teams.
- A detail-oriented mindset and a willingness to take ownership of your work.
- Interest in building large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications.
- Exposure to AWS, containers, Kubernetes, SQL, or web development is helpful.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Jersey City, New Jersey.
