About the role#
TRIUMF is building five crab cavity cryomodules for the High Luminosity upgrade project at CERN. This role involves designing and fabricating the jigs and fixtures required for the assembly process. You will work under the supervision of the SRF senior designer and technical staff, with additional input from a mechanical engineer.
What you'll do#
- Support the design of fixtures for the cryomodule assembly.
- Complete final design and fabrication drawings for release to the machine shop.
- Assist in the on-site assembly of SRF-related projects.
- Gain experience with RF, superconductivity, cryogenics, and vacuum technology.
- Use CAD and FEA tools to conduct mechanical simulations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a 3rd or 4th year student in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Physics.
- Familiarity with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and mechanical design principles.
- Interest in hands-on mechanical work and simulations.

- Role is located on-site in Vancouver, BC.
- This is a full-time position for the Winter 2027 term (January 4, 2027 to April 30, 2027).
