About the role#
Turner Construction Company offers internship and co-op opportunities for students interested in construction management. You will work on active construction project sites or within our main offices. This role helps you build foundational knowledge in project coordination, financial management, safety protocols, and subcontractor relations. Assignments are supervised and may support your efforts to earn educational credits.
What you'll do#
- Support project teams with meeting coordination, material tracking, and file management.
- Assist with document control, progress reporting, and project start-up activities.
- Help collect and review information for shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
- Prepare estimates for changes in work from subcontractors.
- Attend site visits to observe and document field activities.
- Communicate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Assist with monitoring contractor compliance with safety programs.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and studies for project items.
- Request and distribute subcontractor proposals.
- Participate in training, meetings, and orientation sessions.
- Comply with all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university degree program with at least one year of completed education.
- A strong desire to work in construction management.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work standard business hours and overtime as required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear verbal and written communication in English.
- Ability to read and comprehend written information.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and work independently or in a team.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to assume personal and professional accountability.
