About the role#
Turner Construction Company hires interns and co-ops to support active construction projects. You will work under supervision to build knowledge in construction management, project safety, and financial processes. This role is a full-time, paid position based in Reston, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team with document control, file management, and progress reporting.
- Coordinate meetings and track project materials.
- Assist with the collection and review of shop drawings, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Attend site visits to observe and document field activities.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and studies for project items.
- Assist with project close out preparations.
- Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and engineers as directed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Ability to follow project site signage and supervisor instructions.
- Willingness to learn about construction management practices.
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and staff.
- Commitment to safety protocols and the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
