About the role#
The Department of State Hospitals is hiring two student assistants to support the administration of outside medical services for patients. You will work alongside staff on projects related to the Health Care Provider Network. This role offers a look into healthcare operations and state government while you build analytical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Conduct medical provider outreach.
- Perform data entry and analysis.
- Review medical claims.
- Conduct research.
- Update SharePoint and internal intranet sites.
- Manage Excel tracking and maintenance.
- Handle mail room duties and process timesheets.
- Prepare meeting agendas and minutes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine-quarter units.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Majors in Business Administration, Public Health, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Computer Science, or Psychology.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Employment Type: Part-time, temporary, non-benefited position.
