About the role#
The Block Lab in the Department of Animal Sciences seeks a student assistant to support research in animal reproduction. This role offers the chance to gain experience with techniques such as cell culture, in vitro fertilization, embryo handling, fluorescence microscopy, and reproductive ultrasonography. You will work alongside graduate students to support ongoing projects while maintaining laboratory operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform general laboratory tasks including dishwashing, sterilization of supplies, and weekly cleaning.
- Conduct quality control assessments on laboratory equipment.
- Assist graduate students with various laboratory and animal procedures.
- Complete other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the University of Wyoming.
- Eligibility for and acceptance of a work study award through Student Financial Aid.
- Prior laboratory experience.
- Reliability, responsibility, and punctuality.

- This position is located on-site at the Animal Science building in Laramie, Wyoming.
- This is a paid, part-time, work study position.
