About the role#
This position produces sports journalism for Student Media across print, digital, and broadcast platforms. You will cover University of Wyoming athletics and local sporting events. The role requires collaboration with editors, photographers, and broadcast staff to deliver accurate and timely content.
What you'll do#
- Write and edit sports stories, game recaps, and feature profiles.
- Deliver live or recorded sports reports for broadcasts and livestreams.
- Maintain accuracy and follow AP Style guidelines.
- Participate in editorial meetings and story planning sessions.
- Maintain at least 8 hours of office time per week between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a University of Wyoming student.
- Interest in sports journalism and knowledge of collegiate athletics.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends to cover events.
- Willingness to learn print, digital, and broadcast journalism techniques.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
- Experience with photography, video, audio, or social media is helpful.
- Availability for Tuesday training sessions from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

- The role is paid and full-time.
