About the role#
Student Ambassadors serve as the first point of contact for prospective students and their families visiting the University of Wyoming. You will help create a welcoming environment at the Campus Visitor Center and assist the Office of Admissions with recruitment goals. This position requires an on-site presence in Laramie.
What you'll do#
- Represent the university during weekday visits and special events.
- Lead informative campus tours for students, parents, and visiting groups.
- Welcome guests to campus and answer questions about the student experience.
- Prepare visit materials and make outreach calls to prospective students.
- Attend training sessions throughout the semester.
- Work Saturday visitation events during the academic year.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate status in good academic and disciplinary standing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
- Commitment to promoting the university in a positive manner.
- Skill in sharing relevant personal stories about your time as a student.
- Ability to take initiative on office projects both independently and in a team.
- Willingness to learn and articulate details regarding university programs and admissions.
