About the role#
The Video Editor produces video content for WyoWire and other Student Media platforms. You will work with producers, reporters, and videographers to turn raw footage into stories, promotional content, and special projects. This role involves maintaining visual quality and technical accuracy while meeting production deadlines.
What you'll do#
- Edit video packages, news stories, feature stories, and promotional videos.
- Assemble raw footage into finished productions using professional software.
- Create graphics, lower-thirds, titles, captions, and visual effects.
- Export files for broadcast, livestreams, social media, and digital distribution.
- Train and mentor assistant video editors and other student staff in production workflows.
- Edit audio, adjust sound levels, and incorporate music or voiceovers.
- Perform color correction to ensure visual consistency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student with at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- Understanding of audio editing, color correction, and post-production workflows.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to start work on Aug. 24, 2025.
- Availability for training on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and for deadlines on Sundays and Wednesday nights.

- This position is located in Laramie, Wyoming.
- Work is on-site at the university campus.
- This is a paid, full-time student position with a rolling term.
