    About the role#

    The WyoWire Studio Producer and News Director manages student broadcast, multimedia, and news operations. You will lead studio production, editorial workflows, and cross-platform collaboration. This role involves mentoring student staff, ensuring adherence to production standards, and supporting an integrated student media environment. You will work at least 20 hours per week, with at least 10 of those hours occurring between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

    What you'll do#

    • Oversee studio and broadcast production operations for WyoWire.
    • Manage editing, post-production, publishing, and multimedia distribution.
    • Track assignments, deadlines, production progress, and newsroom workflow.
    • Coordinate on-air talent, producers, videographers, and technical crew during productions.
    • Oversee quality control for broadcast, multimedia, and editorial content.
    • Attend weekly meetings with the supervisor and student staff.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a University of Wyoming student with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
    • Working knowledge of video editing, audio production, photography, or multimedia software.
    • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple assignments.
    • Knowledge of AP Style, journalistic ethics, copyright requirements, and Student Media policies.
    • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events as production schedules require.
    • Availability to start work on August 24, 2026.
