About the role#
This internship focuses on production efficiency and quality within the manufacturing industry. You will work alongside production teams to apply your engineering education and a continuous improvement mindset to real-world projects. This role involves direct involvement with assembly lines, logistics, and quality areas to help improve existing processes.
What you'll do#
- Drive lean methodology and support 5S activities.
- Collect and analyze data to focus on standards and repeatability.
- Perform video analysis to identify Muri, Mura, and Muda.
- Assist with line balancing projects and Kaizen weeks.
- Collaborate with other departments to implement product and process changes.
- Support training sessions for Lean Manufacturing tools.
- Participate in project planning, implementation, and functional meetings.
- Assist in the creation of follow-up reports and flow charts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering degree program.
- Completion of at least 30 semester hours before the start of the term.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
- Strong communication skills.
- Valid US work authorization.
