About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in health and safety disciplines at our Macungie facility. You will work under direct supervision to support safety compliance and help maintain our health programs. The role is paid, on-site, and scheduled for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine duties to support health and safety standards.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of safety programs and procedures.
- Monitor the work area for potential hazards.
- Investigate accidents, injuries, and safety complaints.
- Collaborate with the Ergonomics Team to implement workplace solutions.
- Recommend improvements for processes, equipment, and design.
- Participate in employee training and emergency preparedness activities.
- Verify the quality of safety programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related degree program.
- Completion of at least 30 semester hours of undergraduate study before the start date.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Flexibility to handle changing tasks and priorities.
- Reliability and a willingness to work in a team environment.
- Ability to respond to production issues with urgency.
