About the role#
As a GIS Intern at WaterOne, you will work directly with our GIS staff to support ongoing projects and operations. This role involves a mix of office-based analytical work and field data collection. You will gain hands-on experience with utility-focused geographic information systems while contributing to our mapping and database maintenance efforts.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and implementation of Web and Mobile GIS applications using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Compile, edit, and maintain data within geographic and operational databases.
- Collect field data using GPS equipment and support drone data collection missions.
- Support the integration of GIS data with non-spatial applications like SAP and SCADA.
- Help establish and maintain quality control and quality assurance procedures for GIS databases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours, including 15 hours of relevant upper-division coursework.
- Knowledge of and experience with ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Pro.
- Ability to commit to the full 12-week internship program.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet company driving standards.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and strong communication skills.
