About the role#
The Clinical Pharmacy Intern supports the Mobile Access Pharmacy Program (MAPP) at Wayne State University Physician Group. This role functions as both a clinical support team member and an operational resource. You will gain exposure to community-based pharmacy services, population health, mobile healthcare delivery, and quality improvement initiatives while working under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with patient outreach, follow-up activities, and continuity of care.
- Manage patient scheduling and appointment coordination for clinical services.
- Perform medication reconciliation, collect medication histories, and prepare for Medication Therapy Management (MTM) encounters.
- Identify patients who may benefit from pharmacist-led services through chart reviews and Mobile Health Unit encounters.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and operational program development.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and community health workers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
- Active Michigan Pharmacy Intern License or eligibility for licensure prior to hire.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- An interest in community-based clinical pharmacy, medication access, and public health.
- Comfort working within hybrid, office-based, and community-based care models.
