About the role#
As an intern at York Space Systems, you will work on actual space missions while participating in a structured training program. You will be paired with a Senior Engineer mentor and take ownership of a specific, challenging project designed to be completed during your time here. This role is for those interested in spacecraft and space systems who want to see what it is like to work in the aerospace industry.
What you'll do#
- Develop, manage, and execute complex test software suites for specific mission activities.
- Create and run both manual and automated test cases, including all necessary documentation and troubleshooting.
- Build automation tools for testing and operational tasks to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate across the business with technicians, operators, and program managers.
- Partner with systems engineering and program management teams to define project strategies and timelines.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year engineering degree program (Computer, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering) with at least one year completed.
- 0-2 years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining Python or similar libraries.
- Experience working with Linux, REST APIs, and Git.
- Ability to collect and process data.
- Capacity to work a 40-hour work-week on-site.
