About the role#
As a Data Analytics Intern on the Integration, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering team, you will examine the data behind how Zipline builds and ships its drones. You will work with inventory, materials, production output, and quality metrics. Your work will involve collaborating with engineers, production leads, and leadership to find insights that keep the factory floor running. This role focuses on turning raw data into clear information that helps teams make faster, smarter decisions.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to identify the data and insights that matter most to the business.
- Partner with engineers to learn how manufacturing and inventory data is generated and transformed.
- Write SQL queries and help streamline reporting using tools like Mode, Streamlit, or Sigma.
- Support data quality efforts by validating datasets and identifying issues before they affect reporting.
- Dig into open-ended questions from the floor and leadership to turn raw data into actionable answers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Comfort writing SQL queries to calculate metrics and pull insights.
- Experience with Python for data analysis, such as scripting, cleaning, or automation.
- Experience working with large datasets and turning them into clear findings.
- Familiarity with a BI or dashboarding tool like Mode, Sigma, Tableau, Looker, ThoughtSpot, or Power BI.
- Strong communication skills to explain findings and tell a clear story with numbers.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to translate business questions into technical solutions.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in South San Francisco, California.
- The term for this position is Winter 2027 (January to April).
- This position is paid.
