About the role#
The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) is hiring Programming & Marketing Assistants to help manage student events and campus initiatives. You will work with professional and graduate staff to plan and run programs that support the student experience at American University. This is a part-time position requiring 5 to 7 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of CSI-led events.
- Provide on-site event support, including setup, breakdown, and logistics.
- Create marketing materials such as graphics, social media content, and flyers.
- Capture photos and videos for event coverage and archives.
- Staff CSI tabling efforts to promote programs and engage with students.
- Organize the CSI storage closet and maintain event inventory.
- Clean and maintain program equipment and supplies.
What you'll need#
- You must be a currently enrolled student at American University.
- You must have an active Federal Work Study (FWS) award.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and prioritize your work.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a willingness to take initiative.
- Strong organizational skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Commitment to providing quality customer service.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

- The position is on-site and part-time.
