About the role#
Baxter & Woodman is hiring a Transportation Engineering Intern for our Peoria Heights, Illinois office. This role provides on-the-job experience supporting our transportation department with the planning and design of various facilities. You will work alongside our transportation design team throughout the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform plan reviews and prepare project plans.
- Use CAD software for design tasks.
- Compute project quantities.
- Conduct traffic analysis and data collection.
- Assist with field surveys and construction inspection.
What you'll need#
- Ongoing pursuit of a 4-year degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering.
- Availability to start in May 2027.
- Ability to travel throughout our service area using your own transportation.
- Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Compensation: $23.00 per hour.
