    About the role#

    This internship supports the Charity Champions program by helping local nonprofits secure funding. You will work directly with community service partners to research, draft, and submit grant proposals. This is a paid position requiring 10 to 20 hours of work per week during the Fall 2026 semester.

    What you'll do#

    • Identify 10 viable grants and draft 5 proposals for foundations or other grant-making organizations.
    • Finalize and submit at least 3 proposals by the end of the semester.
    • Research government, corporate, and foundation leads.
    • Gather statistics and local data to support nonprofit missions.
    • Analyze the specific needs of the nonprofits you support.
    • Comply with all grant reporting requirements.
    • Attend weekly meetings with the intern team and meet once a week with your assigned organization.
    • Persuasively communicate the mission and programs of the nonprofits to potential funders.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in Business Administration, Communications, Public Health, Political Science, or Psychology programs.
    • Strong research and organizational skills.
    • Ability to communicate persuasively.
    • Experience or interest in grant writing.
    • Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Waco, Texas.
    • Work modality: On-site. You must spend 50 percent of your clocked-in time working at the organization's offices.
    • Term: Fall 2026.
