About the role#
The Fitness Center Attendant helps students, faculty, and staff engage in healthy lifestyle practices. You will ensure the facility remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all patrons. This role is based at the McLane Student Life Center in Waco, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Greet patrons and track attendance.
- Clean and organize gym equipment regularly.
- Ensure the safe use of all exercise equipment.
- Educate patrons on facility policies and assist with spotting as needed.
- Perform various business operations duties and assist with assigned projects.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
What you'll need#
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Good time management and the ability to take initiative.
- Professionalism and the ability to comply with university policies.
- Capacity to perform moderate to heavy lifting to organize equipment.
- Enrollment in majors such as Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: Minimum 7 hours per week, with availability between 5:45 AM and midnight, Sunday through Saturday. Weekend shifts are required.
- Term: Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
- Compensation: $10.00 per hour.
