About the role#
This position is for a student teacher at the Talitha Koum Institute. You will work directly with children ranging from infants to 5 years old. This role is open to students with majors including Psychology, Nursing, Public Health, Kinesiology, Sociology, Human Resources, Criminal Justice, and Graphic Design.
What you'll do#
- Provide care and supervision for children in the program.
- Manage and support children who exhibit challenging behaviors.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities.
- Assist with external community service partners as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be a Federal Work Study (FWS) student to qualify.
- Ability to provide care for children from infancy through age 5.
- Experience working with children who have challenging behaviors.
- Strong communication skills to interact with staff and children.
- Availability to work Monday through Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
