About the role#
This internship provides students with hands-on experience in mechanical installations for hospitals, hotels, and institutional facilities. You will work under the supervision of project managers and departmental staff to support project estimating and business operations. This position is open to students currently enrolled in university programs who want to gain practical knowledge in the utility system construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Create a master checklist of goals to guide your internship experience.
- Assist teams with project documentation, including spreadsheets, databases, reports, and schedules.
- Prepare reports and presentations as required.
- Attend departmental and jobsite meetings to learn company policies and procedures.
- Participate in company learning experiences such as jobsite tours, safety inspections, and orientations.
- Perform special tasks and projects as assigned.
- Provide feedback on your experience during an exit interview.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university studying Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a business-related field.
- Current standing as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- Reliable daily transportation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with daily supervision.
- A detail-oriented approach and the ability to multitask.
- Respect for tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Punctuality and a positive attitude toward colleagues and work tasks.

- Location: Westmont, Illinois.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Term: Rolling.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Travel: You may spend up to 5 percent of your time traveling to job sites or office locations.
- Physical requirements: The role requires the ability to sit for long periods, climb stairs, and lift or move objects up to 20 pounds.
