About the role#
The Center for Research Advancement in Smart Manufacturing (CREST-RASM) at Cal Poly Pomona is hiring Graduate Research Student Assistants. This role supports research projects in areas like computer vision, robotics, AI, and smart manufacturing. You will work directly under the supervision of CPP faculty Principal Investigators. This position is part-time, offering between 10 and 20 hours of work per week during academic semesters and summer sessions.
What you'll do#
- Conduct graduate-level research in fields such as AI, robotics, or cyber-physical infrastructure.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates.
- Prepare and present research findings for group meetings, seminars, and publications.
- Mentor and recruit undergraduate students participating in the CREST-RASM program.
- Engage in professional development, including grant proposal support and conference presentations.
What you'll need#
- US citizenship is required.
- Current enrollment or admission in a Master's program at CPP in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and synthesize technical conference and journal papers.
